A 53 year old Nigerian Lesbian woman, Moji Solar-Percy has married her American “wife” on Tuesday in the United States, and her daughter was their makeup Artiste.

Moji is a real estate mogul, runs a company, Solar Worldwide Realty Inc. in Staten Island, New York. She gushed about her love for the woman, with whom she probably would have been arrested if the wedding had taken place in Nigeria.

Solar-Percy, who hails from Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State, describes herself as a mother, realtor, LGBT activist, speaker, coach and host on her Facebook page, did not reveal the name of her partner.

She wrote on her Facebook wall, where friends and families have been celebrating her new status, that she embarked on the marital journey with fear.

“Today I woke up in a cold sweat. I was drenched with fear, for a moment. I forgot where I was. I ask you all to close your eyes, imagine what would have happened Saturday at our wedding if we were in Nigeria.

“Even though we went to great lengths to make sure we had security, the thought of the police barging in and arresting all our guests, my wife and I, to be carted off to jail, the women raped and beaten, the men brutalised, and my children beaten along with everyone else.

“When I got my bearings, I got on my knees and thanked God for his grace of living in the US. Then I remembered all the people that could not do what we did with grace and class.To all of you (gay) all over Africa, #westandforyou. May all our days be filled with blessings and grace.”

In another post on Facebook, she hinted that one of her children, actually did her make-up and hair.

“My make-up was all I wanted that day. My weave looked like it grew out of my scalp. To have my first child do my hair and make-up, then walk me down the aisle was one of the best memories of the evening,” she said.

According to her, the daughter had been doing her hair and makeup since she was 12.

In the wedding, which was well attended by other Nigerians in the US, Solar-Percy and her bridge decked up in both traditional attires, while another picture she posted showed her wearing a white wedding gown and being attended to by her first child.

Friends say Solar-Percy has never hidden her sexual orientation.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that as is the tradition in many gay weddings, the broker and her partner made use of two aisles.

A source said that each of their bridal trains alternated going down the respective aisles, then Sola-Percy and her partner walked parallel to each other.

She was said to have hired two photographers to capture both of them as they walked down the aisle

In Nigeria, such a gay marriage would have met with a clampdown from authorities as a result of the country’s Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Law, which prescribes up to 14 years imprisonment upon conviction.

Today, definitely is a sad day in Nollywood. Reports gathered claims that the actor is yet to fully recover from the sickness. But then, his condition worsened at the middle of the night and he was said to have called on his PA to take him UCH in the middle of the night but died before he could be conveyed to the hospital.

Olumide Bakare, while on his sick bed at UCH, once told Ace TV broadcaster in Yoruba “Jide Omo Moronfolu, agbara mi o ka mo o(meaning /Jide, I can’t hold on much longer).”

He will surely be missed by fans, colleagues, and family.

The thespian, who had been sick since last year, according to family sources, underwent a surgery Friday night at University Teaching Hospital, UCH, Ibadan for an undisclosed ailment.

"His situation however gone bad during the procedure and he could not make it. So he died", a close family source, Abiodun Alarape told Amiloaded.

Bakare, it was learnt was rushed to UCH on January 24, after suffering cardiac arrest.

His condition was however said to have improved, until he went in for the procedure and failed to make it out alive.

According to LIB, Olayode Juliana, popularly known as 'Toyo Baby' in Funke Akindele-Bello's popular Television comic series, Jenifa's Diaries, has been cut from production.

According to the report, it was revealed that they had a disagreement and have now gone their separate ways.

And it became slightly more obvious after Juliana was significantly absent at events/parties that held in Funke's mansion in Lekki, Lagos unlike her other former co-stars. 

She was even absent during the Jenifa's Diary ladies photoshoot.

Russia’s Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that Jehovah’s Witnesses was an “extremist” organisation and must hand over all its property to the state, Russian news agencies reported.

Interfax news agency quoted Sergei Cherepanov, a Jehovah’s Witnesses representative, as saying that the group will appeal the decision in the European Court of Human Rights.
“We will do everything possible,” he said.
Russian authorities have put several of the group’s publications on a list of banned extremist literature and prosecutors have long cast it as an organisation that destroys families, fosters hatred and threatens lives.
The group, a United States-based nontrinitarian Christian denomination known for its door-to-door preaching and rejection of military service and blood transfusions, says this description is false.
The religious organisation has expanded around the world and has about eight million active followers. It has faced court proceedings in several countries, mostly over its pacifism and rejection of blood transfusions, but has Russia has been most outspoken in portraying it as an extremist cult.
Its Russian branch, based near St Petersburg, has regularly rejected this allegation. It has said a ban would directly affect around 400 of its groups and have an impact on all of its 2,277 religious groups in Russia, where it says it has 175,000 followers.

Trouble As Stephanie Otobo Drags Apostle Suleman To Canadian Court

The adultery scandal involving the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleiman and a Canadian-based musician, Stephanie Otobo, is getting messier, as she drags Apostle Sulieman to Toronto Ontario Superior court in Canada, demanding 5 million dollars. Recall that Apostle Sulieman had earlier filled a suit against her  and her lawyer in Nigeria on defamation, demanding 1 billion Naira. However the suit reads thus, ”Stephanie had relied on Apostle Suleman’s undertaking which led her, upon further prompting from Suleman, to forfeit her lucrative career and property in Canada to settle down in Nigeria with her would-be husband. ”Soon after, in late August 2015, Otobo arrived in Nigeria to meet Suleman at the Definite Destiny Hotel in Lagos where things took a dramatic turn when Stephanie was given a concoction which Apostle Suleman called “spiritual drink” but which turned was aimed at terminating her pregnancy. ”Otobo, who suffered bleeding after taking the concoction, managed to regain consciousness after she was given pain-killing pills by Suleman. She subsequently retuned to Canada to receive further treatment, even as she was then stalked by followers of Suleman who were also his church’s congregants in Canada. ”She eventually returned to Nigeria early this year to seek redress for her ordeal, but was arrested on March 17, 2017, in company of a male friend in Lagos and then arraigned on charges slammed on her by Nigerian police officers working under the direction of Suleman, the charges alarmingly include “terrorism.” She was then detained in different centers by the Nigerian police before being granted bail, even as the matter remains pending in court. ”Suleman subsequently engaged a sturdy propaganda machinery to stave off the potent threat of Otobo revelations on his person and the Omega Fire Ministries’ image in the public. Some of the tools he exploited were to portray Otobo as unworthy to be associated with, despite Otobo’s revelation of bank transactions between both of them, as well as goading Stephanie’s mother and sister to make public apology during a service at his church on Stephanie’s behalf in a demeaning manner.” Finally, the Canada law holds it that, Suleman has within 40 (forty days) to serve and file his statement of defense. Prophet Arrested In Lagos For Over $500 Fraud (Photo)

 A prophet in one of the orthodox churches in Lagos identified as Moses Edwin was on Friday arrested by men of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command for stealing $500 belonging to a customer while trying to convert $5,000 into Naira.

Edwin, 50, a bureau de change operator and his gang member, Daniel Ebhohimen, were arrested beside Airport Hotel, Ikeja three days after stealing $500 from $5,000 bills presented to them by one Bayo Lookman for conversion into naira.

The two suspect had in exchanging $5,000 for Bayo Lookman, a member the National Youth Service Corp serving in Lagos, surreptitiously removed $500 from the notes presented to them for confirmation opposite Airport Hotel, Ikeja.

Edwin had promised an exchange rate of N387 to a dollar while negotiating with Bayo. He thereafter invited another member of his gang, Ebhohimen who together while confirming the dollars removed $500 before handing over $4500 back to unsuspecting Bayo in his car.

According to Bayo, “I was trying to help my mum change the $5,000. I got to Airport Hotel and I met these men. After negotiating back and forth, they offered me N387 to a dollar.

They took my details on the ground that the transaction was going to be online. Edwin requested that I surrender the $5,000 bills for them to confirm. Reluctantly, I gave them but I was monitoring them and I was counting along with them in my car”.

He went further, “they were mid-way into the counting when another member of the gang distracted me from the driver side of my car.

Thereafter, they handed back the money to me that it was complete. They told me to keep it in order for their colleagues not to see us and we headed to one of the banks in Opebi.

We entered the bank. All along they prevented me from counting the money. At the bank, they told me the rate they gave me was no longer possible and that they were backing out but I offered for a renegotiation.

LAGBUS Carrying Deeper Life Members From Easter Retreat Catches Fire (photos)

Hundreds of Deeper Life Bible Church worshippers have escaped death when the LAGBUS conveying them from camp to Lagos burst into flames.

The chattered LAGUS, conveying worshippers coming from the National Deeper Life Retreat on Sunday, caught fire on Otedola Bridge, Berger area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The bus took off from the Deeper Life Conference Centre, DLCC, Km 42, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after the end of the four-day retreat.

On Otedola bridge, the bus carrying at least a 100 worshippers was said to have burst into flames as people scamper to safety before the inferno could consume them.

Officials of the Lagos State Fire Services and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA arrived the scene on time to rescue worshippers before the LAGBUS was burnt in the inferno.

Any eye witness, who craved anonymity, told PM News that the bus was filled to capacity with worshippers when it caught fire, but that no life was lost.

He said the bus might have caught fire as a result of over heating.

According to him, several worshippers abandoned their loads as escaped to avoid being burnt in the inferno, saying that there was frantic scampering for safety by the passengers.

The source added that officials of the fire servicemen arrived on time to assist in evacuating the passengers from the burning bus.

He said when worshippers suspected that a fire was about to be ignited, the asked the driver to stop and that when he did, they found every available means of escape before the fire fully engulfed the bus.

Worshippers were said to have gathered at one side of the road singing praises to God for saving them from being burnt to death after they just left an inspiring retreat where Pastor Williams Kumuyi of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry prayed for the for God’s blessings and that they would not die untimely.

Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe said his men arrived the scene on time and were able to rescue worshippers and confirmed that life was lost.

A LASEMA official who craved anonymity also confirmed that no life was lost but that the bus burnt complexly.

500 Level FUTA Student Shot Dead By Police During A Peaceful Protest (photo)

A 500-level student of the Federal University of Akure (FUTA) was allegedly killed by a police officer during a peaceful protest with his kinsmen in his hometown.

The deceased, identified as Julius Adeniran was home for the holiday when he yesterday, joined the Igbara Odo youth in a peaceful protest.. The policemen who tried to disrupt the protest shot into the crowd to disperse them, but unfortunately the bullet hit the 500 level student of FUTA.

His friends shared the sad news on Facebook and wrote tributes to mourn the deceased. One of his friends, Olowolafe Mayowa Samuel, wrote:

“Good Friday turned a bad one here. Son of man fell and pool of tears was inevitably instigated today in my hometown.My brother, late Ayilumo Julius was an indigene of Igbara Odo Ekiti, a 500level student of FUTA and a youth with a never giving up spirit. He loved me so much and he believed in the future of our hometown. He was shot and killed today by police officers while the officers were trying to halt a peaceful protest staged by Igbara Odo youths.Bro.your sudden death makes me realise how ephemeral life is. May God have mercy on you and forgive you of your sins, RIP. I love you prince Jul.”

I congratulate our Christian brothers and sisters on the celebration of this year’s Easter.

I rejoice with you on this historic occasion signifying the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, redemption over condemnation, and hope over despair.

The commemoration of this special season in Christianity, is always preceded by fasting, piety, humility, penance and prayers of intercession in the build up to the death of Jesus Christ on Good Friday, an event which reunited man with his Creator.

The message of Easter is filled with themes of love, faith, sacrifice, dedication, commitment, fulfilment of prophecy, hope, expectation and victory, as espoused in the Scriptures and the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ.

As we celebrate yet another Easter, I urge all Nigerians to live peacefully with one another and do their utmost to make Nigeria a beautiful place to reside.

In the almost two years of this administration, we have worked hard to meet the expectations of Nigerians by improving security, especially in the North-East, sustaining the campaign against corruption and have taken steps to revitalize the economy.

We are determined as never before to continue with the fight against terrorism and insurgency; sustain the peace in the Niger Delta through engagements with stakeholders; and restore peace and stability in other parts of the country.

It is in our collective interest to live in peace because without peace, no meaningful and sustainable development can take place. Lack of peace in one part affects in one way or the other, all parts of the country. Our people must rediscover the values of peaceful co-existence, social justice, religious tolerance, dignity of labour and patriotism.

I enjoin all Nigerians to keep faith in the determination and ability of this administration to change the Nigerian story for the good of all.

Snapchat Was Only Supposed To Be For Rich People - Snapchat CEO

Some interesting new information has come to light In an ongoing lawsuit between Snapchat and an employee who believes

he was wrongfully terminated.

The employee is Anthony Pompliano who was recruited from Facebook to assist the company in growing.

One of his initial concerns was that the

app wasn’t doing too well in overseas countries. When presented with the concern, Snapchat CEO

Evan Spiegal allegedly said that the app is only

for rich people and that he didn’t want to expand into “poor” countries like India and

Spain before storming out of a meeting.

If true, the statement sounds really naive of the CEO now that the company has gone public and has become one of the biggest social networks in the mobile world. Had the app truly only been for rich people, it wouldn’t have seen nearly as much growth and Snapchat wouldn’t have

been able to get to the

point where they could do an IPO. There’s also the matter that there’s

very little “poor” about countries like Spain, and while India may indeed be a developing market, it’s progressing faster than every other major country in the world.

Other allegations Pompliano presented were that the company

was routinely lying about usage numbers, such as 40% customer retention and 87% application turnover, figures which Pompliano

allege were greatly exaggerated, and something that could

cause an issue with advertisers down the

line.

There’s also a note about a shady attempt

to learn about Facebook’s organizational structure despite Pompliano having a known confidentiality

agreement in place, as

well as accusations of Snapchat hindering his ability to find new work by blacklisting him, a practice where former employers wrongly provide bad feedback about an individual to companies looking into

hiring them.

For Snapchat’s end, they contend that Pompliano’s claims about his knowledge of

their “current” user metrics are merely made up. Which Snapchat has fought to keep redacted but recently relaxed their stance in light of their recent IPO.
