Stephanie Otobo Turns Born Again After Apostle Suleman's Saga: "This Is New Me"

Sex, music and I –Stephanie Otobo

‘I want a man I can handle’

After weeks of media war with controversial pastor, Apostle Johnson Suleman over an alleged sexual relationship, the preacher’s alleged traducer and Canada-based Stephanie Otobo might have gone back to her first love, music. She recalled that as a child, she was at the forefront of children activities in the church and that strengthened her resolve to become famous through music.

After releasing a single, ‘I depend on you’, Stephanie says she is less bothered about negative comments or being rejected by people who feel she should have buried her head in shame over the scandal that rocked her life.

In this interview with Entertainer, Miss Otobo during a visit to The Sun Corporate Headquarters in Lagos, recently, opened up on her sex life, music and other allegations preferred against her. She revealed that she is focused to making something out of her life by ministering to others through song.

When and how did you get into music because what was being promoted about you during your controversy with the man of God was that Stephanie was a stripper in Canada?

I have loved music since I was a child. During children functions at the church, I would take the lead roles. I did choreography and worship. Since then, I had loved to sing when I grew older and become a star. I was doing secular music beforeI came out with my gospel single.

Last year, while I was in Canada, I tried to make music but it didn’t have the Nigerian taste in terms of the production of the song and the music itself. Over there, their songs lack that distinct Nigerian flavour. I care about afro music, which is taking more of African music into the western world.

I travelled to Nigeria and made a song entitled ‘My Girlfriend’ using my stage name Kimora. I came to Nigeria to make a gospel song because I have always loved gospel songs. Having been in church since I was a child, I had wanted to flow with that passion. I met with some people I was supposed to work with and they explained to me that if I go into gospel songs, I would be wasting my time.

They told me that my song might be everywhere but I won’t make money. They said the best it would get me was popularity but nothing else. They said nobody would invite me for shows because I don’t attend any of the big churches in Nigeria nor belong to any famous choir.

I was told that I won’t make money because people don’t know me.

They explained to me that later on, I can go back to gospel songs because I am still very young. In life, you don’t have to rely on your own wisdom alone, you have to listen to the people who are in the business. It made sense to me that secular music was okay for now and later I can change to gospel, but originally, gospel was my thing.

Immediately, I changed to secular music. I got into the secular lifestyle. I started music last year officially.

In essence, it wasn’t as if you had formal training in music, it was something you picked from the church?

No, I didn’t go for training. I tried to go for training though. I moved from Toronto, Canada, to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada just to kick start my music career. I was struggling to find a way out and stand on my feet as a musician. It’s like starting a business, you know you need capital, but you also need other things too. I didn’t know how to come out as a musician. I enrolled to study music at the university but after moving to a new state, I couldn’t get myself to begin school. I told myself I could actually achieve my dreams without going to school.

At what point did the issue of stripping in clubs come in?

I don’t know if it’s because I’m an entertainer. Generally, as you sing, you are not just singing, you’re dancing and using your body to attract others and entertain your fans. I don’t know if that was why people claimed I was a stripper. I was just an entertainer.

So you were never a stripper?

No, I wasn’t. My life currently is like a whole new experience. Whatever I had done or practised didn’t please God. I don’t do them anymore. I left them all behind in the pool of the drama with the man of God. Old things have passed away and this is a new me.

Now that you’re doing gospel songs, how did you get the inspiration?

What really inspired me was my experience in jail in Nigeria. It was the fear and terror I lived through while in jail in Kirikiri prison. I live in Canada and if I was a thief, one day I would expect to go to jail. If I was a killer, one day I would expect to go to jail. I have never done anything that would make me think that I could ever go to jail.

So, going to jail in Nigeria was terror. I remember what my father came out to say some things about me then when I was in jail. Even though he couldn’t do anything to help me, knowing that I have his support meant everything to me. The experience in prison made me ask God for mercy and for His help to scale through.

Why are you running back to God seeing that you were disappointed by a man of God, and someone who represents God hurt you?

What I understand about God is that if you are in God, you don’t have the heart to do things that you ordinarily want to do to please your flesh. If you are in Christ, the Holy Spirit will tell you what to do and not you going to do that because you want to. Now, instead of me facing my old life on this man like I used to do, I have changed and I have to face God.

I see all these people insulting me and calling me names as still facing the man of God and treating him like God. I took him like God before but when I saw the truth that this man is not God but just a man that deceived me, hurt me and broke my heart, I had to face God. It is now that I have come to know God for myself.

Have you also thought about the acceptance of your music based on your story, do you think people will accept your gospel songs?

Before I came out with my song, I have confidence in God’s ability to do things. God is a miraculous God. If you know His words, He will make things happen for you. I know there are fears about people not accepting my songs, but there are some people right now who have also accepted my song. I believe those are people that know the word of God which is His ability to change someone’s life at the snap of one’s fingers.

After one has gone through a night of tears and sorrow, the morning comes. I went through this horrible experience of going into jail and it drew me closer to God.

Now you are a Christian, how prepared are you for rejection from the church?

I am not going to blame anybody who is negative to me or finds it hard to accept me. I won’t blame anyone who is not on my side now. I know what the word of God says and I know that if they know what the word of God says, they won’t be deceptive about it. Don’t accept me but accept the word of God.

There’s a misrepresentation of you out there about the way you dress. An average Nigerian has a mentality that a Christian should dress in a particular way, but it didn’t take you a while to change, how did you transform so fast?

My moving forward so fast came from what Jesus said about dying for my sins and shame. If I am not ashamed anymore, why won’t I move forward with my life? Why will I stay home and wait for the world to continue judging me? If the Spirit of God wants me to start my life afresh, why do I have to hide from people because of what they will say? I am not ashamed of the things I have been through because God has used it to change my life.

When you released your music video, some people alleged that you started the controversy with the Apostle just to create publicity for your upcoming song, how true is this?

Maybe he saw my future and tried to make that possible. He is the one closer to God and he’s supposed to see the future, not me. Even if I had planned to do all of these for publicity with a man of God, how possible would it be in the long run? Who knows tomorrow, me? No matter what you plan today, it doesn’t mean it would work out tomorrow exactly the way you planned it.

I can’t take such a risk. I can’t risk my whole family. I can’t risk my father coming out to talk about me because I know who he is and how he behaves. Some of my family members rejected me. My friends rejected me because of this issue. They are all ashamed of me. I won’t risk all of that just to sell my music.

And secondly, he started it. I didn’t start the whole issue. If I did, bank statements would show it. I would be caught collecting money. I wasn’t blackmailing him. He froze my account just to get back at me. I went to get money from my account and got arrested, maltreated and pepper sprayed. I was embarrassed and handcuffed, so how could I have planned all these just for music?

You are coming out a different person, but were you into sex, drugs and prostitution in Canada as alleged by some people?

I am just a normal, young lady. People get lost and that’s why God said only the truth can set you free. It means you have to be lost in order to be free. I wasn’t really into these things but I know I had lived a normal life. I go to club once in a while. I enjoy my weekend but I don’t know anything about sex, drugs and prostitution.

What do you do in Canada?

I am fully into music. I was working. I tried to move on because I like to go round and experience different cities. I worked; I stopped working. I went to school, I stopped school. I even went to beauty school for a couple of months. I have tried many things.

At your age, how were you able to cope with the stress of what you have gone through?

The word of God is my shield and buckler. Everything I have gone through have brought shame and disgrace to me and my family but I am better now because Jesus Christ died for them. I don’t have to hide myself anymore from the world. When I knew that Jesus died for my humiliation, my pain, my ugliness, I held onto to Him and He helped me.

Were there people or group that reached out to you for support during your ordeal?

In Canada, the president of the Nigerian Association who is a minister of God reached out to me. He was my support. Other people reached out to me and offered emotional and spiritual support. They gave him messages for me and he passed it across. I never met any of them in person and they stood by me.

How was your childhood like?

I went to church a lot as a child. I grew up in a Christian background. My mom would always take us to church in Warri. I was born in Lagos but my family moved to Warri when I was little. I grew up mainly in Delta State. My dad and mom separated. My dad was in Warri and my mom was in Sapele.

At what point did you leave Nigeria?

I was almost 16 when I left Nigeria for Canada. A family member adopted me. I didn’t leave on my own.

Growing up, what kind of child were you?

I was a happy, beautiful and outgoing child. I was always in front during children functions in church. People loved to see my face and I loved it too. I enjoyed the attention I got as a child.

Now that you have returned to gospel music after you were told it won’t fetch you money, how do you intend to make money or are you not interested in money?

It’s not about the money. If someone was about to die and I saved him or her, I would want the person to be appreciative. God has saved me and I knew how scared I was and wanted everything to end so I would be okay. When I was convinced that doing gospel was not good for me, I didn’t have much faith like now that I have to be where God wants me to be even if the music is not popular.

I made a secular video on Monday and was arrested on Friday. I put in energy, time and resources into that video. I made a pink hair for it. I wanted it to be the bomb among music lovers, but God had other plans for me. God turned everything around when he took over my life. Now, I will relax and allow God to lee take over.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

I see myself closer to God and doing the things He approves of. Given that people don’t expect God to be so magnanimous with me, it would be a beautiful thing to serve God well. I want to live my life to the glory and praise of God’s name. I want more of Him and less of me.

In this part of the world, there’s a dress code for gospel singers and you are a sharp contrast to that with your hair colour and blings, how do you intend to make your music acceptable in Nigeria given your look?

I believe that as time goes on, I will adapt to what is acceptable here in Nigeria. I adapt well and I believe that God will give the power I need to move forward.

Have you reconciled with your parents now?

I was not happy with what my mother did but I wasn’t angry with her. I saw her and my friends differently. I saw that they thought they were doing what was best for me and I was not angry. I would offer them forgiveness.

What kind of man catches your fancy?

I know many girls would go for a cute face and handsome looking man. I want any man I can handle being around me and I can handle being around him. Along the line, it’s tolerance that matters. How you can be with the one you have chosen and not be tired of him. I don’t want to be with someone who will get tired of me or who I will get tired of living with.

Sex Scandal: Childhood Friend Exposes Stephanie Otobo’s Dirty Secrets

Childhood Friend Exposes Stephanie Otobo

A former close friend of Stephanie Otobo, Miss Yvonne Ogiamien has revealed the character behind Miss Stephanie Otobo, the canadian-based singer who has been dragging and blackmailing Apostle Johnson Suleiman, President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide to filth with claims of romance and infidelity.

In a telephone chat with Journalists, Yvonne spoke about some intimate secrets of Stephanie, her life in Sapele before she relocated to Canada.

Meanwhile, in a new video that has gone viral on the social media, four ladies claiming to be close friends of Stephanie Otobo, claimed that Otobo’s allegations are all lies and that she was known for her fake and indecent lifestyle..

Excerpts as reported by NAIJ.com

How long have you known Stephanie?

We were childhood friends but I travelled to Canada after I got married about 10 years ago but she came in here few years back.

How close are you two?

We were close enough that sometimes she stays over with my family here in Toronto.

You were? Are you no longer friends?

Certainly not! Not after all this mess.

Mess? Ok, we will get back to that. But do you know a little or few things about her private life?

Sure! We shared information up till when she was to travel to Nigeria in January, though I had my reservations about her lifestyle.

Did she at any time mention her relationship with Apostle Johnson Suleman?

Yeaaa! That was about 2015. She told me and a few other friends how she got the number of the preacher from one of the church members here in Toronto. How she called the man for prayers and also pleaded for financial help. She told us how generous the man was and how the man assisted her without ever meeting her.

Was that all, she told you?
That was all. She told me each time the man of God sent some money to her about two or three occasions with a stern warning that she should quit her way of life.

What do you have to say about the allegations by Stephanie that she was in a relationship with Apostle Johnson Suleiman?

Of course not! That ain’t possible! We were always watching the man and his preaching’s on YouTube uptill early this year. Can a girl be in a relationship with someone she hasn’t met? Maybe, she was obsessed with the man of God. I have known Stephanie since her days in Sapele. What I know for certain is that she is not new to controversies. At some point, I felt she was possessed because she was good at scamming and twisting stories with so much finesse. Stephanie would do anything for money.

Are you saying the allegations might be false?

If it were someone else, I would have said there can’t be smoke without fire. But in Stephanie’s world, there can be smoke without fire. This is why I can say on good authority that it is a fat lie because of her antecedent. I know her so so well. For example, Stephanie started courting controversies from as early as the age of 15. She came in here as a student, through a phony admission syndicate in America from where she migrated to Canada. That is Stephanie for you. She would go to any length to make ends meet, including blackmail and extortion.

Are you by chance inferring that the allegations on Apostle Johnson Suleman are false?

As much as I know, If Stephanie was ever in a relationship, I and our other friends would know. She will flaunt it. Not this type she now claimed she made good money from. £8,000, €10,000 etc? Stephanie made all that money and she is still squatting in Canada? How is that possible? We were all bemused to hear and read in the press that she lost her house and cars owing to Apostle Suleman’s failed promise to marry her. This is absolute falsehood and wickedness as Stephanie never had a house. The only time she had an apartment for a few months was when she lied to a lawyer last year that she was pregnant and the man hired a condo for her in Toronto. But when he found out that she was not pregnant, he ejected her. Is that the same house Apostle made her lose?

Can you describe Stephanie Otobo?

Stephanie is a smart girl. And a coarse one as such. She knows how to play her cards. And it is unfortunate that she took the game to a dangerous level by involving Apostle Johnson Suleman. I want to suspect she was looking for something from the man of God and it didn’t work out. Maybe she was obsessed about the man of God, who knows? If not, how would a woman be talking about having an amorous relationship with someone she hasn’t met? Only last year, Stephanie was sleeping with a man called Ola who was said to be genuinely in love with her until she messed him up. She allegedly took his money, promised to marry him but dumped him after breaking the relationship. In return, I gathered that the said Mr. Ola made a video of Stephanie, including clips of her stealing his money. The video was handed to the pastor of their church during testimony time prompting her to flee and stop attending the church. Before leaving town, she temporarily teamed with another lover and together they reportedly engaged in several scams, including Internet fraud. But the bubble burst when her partner was caught and jailed for fraud. Having acquired a negative reputation in Toronto, Stephanie moved to Vancouver where she topped her game by joining so many dating sites. It was also in that city she became a stripper.

But why do you think she is doing all these?

What I can say for certain is that Stephanie does not do anything except for the money. I know for sure that, that is what played out in this case. She probably saw an opportunity and wanted to grab it or was lured into it by some folks in Nigeria who didn’t like the Apostle’s face but it backfired, unfortunately. I am so ashamed on her behalf.

She just released a gospel song entitled “I depend on God”. Don’t you think she may have given her life to God?

Hahahahaha…what the world expected her to release was a confession video or a video of an open apology to the man of God and the body of Christ as a sign of repentance. The prayer of an unrepentant sinner is an abomination before God.

Trouble As Stephanie Otobo Drags Apostle Suleman To Canadian Court

The adultery scandal involving the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleiman and a Canadian-based musician, Stephanie Otobo, is getting messier, as she drags Apostle Sulieman to Toronto Ontario Superior court in Canada, demanding 5 million dollars. Recall that Apostle Sulieman had earlier filled a suit against her  and her lawyer in Nigeria on defamation, demanding 1 billion Naira. However the suit reads thus, ”Stephanie had relied on Apostle Suleman’s undertaking which led her, upon further prompting from Suleman, to forfeit her lucrative career and property in Canada to settle down in Nigeria with her would-be husband. ”Soon after, in late August 2015, Otobo arrived in Nigeria to meet Suleman at the Definite Destiny Hotel in Lagos where things took a dramatic turn when Stephanie was given a concoction which Apostle Suleman called “spiritual drink” but which turned was aimed at terminating her pregnancy. ”Otobo, who suffered bleeding after taking the concoction, managed to regain consciousness after she was given pain-killing pills by Suleman. She subsequently retuned to Canada to receive further treatment, even as she was then stalked by followers of Suleman who were also his church’s congregants in Canada. ”She eventually returned to Nigeria early this year to seek redress for her ordeal, but was arrested on March 17, 2017, in company of a male friend in Lagos and then arraigned on charges slammed on her by Nigerian police officers working under the direction of Suleman, the charges alarmingly include “terrorism.” She was then detained in different centers by the Nigerian police before being granted bail, even as the matter remains pending in court. ”Suleman subsequently engaged a sturdy propaganda machinery to stave off the potent threat of Otobo revelations on his person and the Omega Fire Ministries’ image in the public. Some of the tools he exploited were to portray Otobo as unworthy to be associated with, despite Otobo’s revelation of bank transactions between both of them, as well as goading Stephanie’s mother and sister to make public apology during a service at his church on Stephanie’s behalf in a demeaning manner.” Finally, the Canada law holds it that, Suleman has within 40 (forty days) to serve and file his statement of defense. His failure to appear before Ontario court may warrant judgement given against him without notifying him. however see the Ontario court write up below:

Stephanie Otobo Is A Serial Blackmailer– DELSU Alumnus Ready To Testify In Court

As the fire of the viral sex scandal allegations of Miss Stephanie Otobo against radical preacher Apostle Johnson Suleman rages on, Legend Vibes investigations in its quest to unravel the truth behind the case discovered a twist which could put the whole case to bed. A Facebook user, names withheld for now, who happens to have attended Delta State University while Stephanie was a student there has in a reaction to a post on her revelations about the clergyman made bold to say he is willing to be docked any time to testify that he knows her as a blackmailer.

In his words, the DELSU alumnus said:
“My encounter with Steph was an attempt to blackmail my person then…in 2006. Call me anytime in court, I will testify “. According to him, Stephanie who was a model instructor and part of the organisers of the Miss DELSU Beauty Pageant back then always had her scheme for getting to the top.
The post elicited confirmatory response from more DELSU alumni who had different things to say about their knowledge of Miss Otobo.
As it stands, this might be the only big contradiction to the Stephanie’s case against the acclaimed clergyman who is accusing Festus Keyamo of orchestrating a media trial to tarnish his image just as Stephanie continues to give out press interviews and revealing damning details of their purported relationship in a matter which is already before the courts.
Stay with us. The truth will come out in this one. Legend Vibes on duty.

Apostle Suleman Sent His Private Part Photos To Stephanie Otobo- Keyamo Chamber

The Festus Keyamo Chambers in Lagos today warned Apostle Johnson Suleman, Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, to prepare for war over Stephanie Otobo, who kicked off a firestorm recently when she alleged an amorous relationship with him.

Among others, the law firm said today in a press statement that not only does it have graphic proof of the pastor’s relationship with Ms. Otobo, but that other “unfortunate victims” of his have come forward and are also itching to tell their story, with proofs.

On Thursday evening, Apostle Johnson Suleman’s lawyer demanded that Mr. Keyamo, whose law firm is representing Ms. Otobo, retract all publications, apologize publicly to him, and pay him N1bn for alleged blackmail and injuries inflicted on him.

In the response, signed by two lawyers of the Keyamo Chambers, Uchenna B. Moneke and Oluwafemi O.N. Olabisi, the firm noted that Keyamo, its Head of Chambers, is not personally involved in the matter and has been in Abuja during the controversy, and that its formal response to the “ill-advised” letter by the pastor’s lawyers is on its way to him.

“Apart from an informal and friendly phone conversation Mr. Festus Keyamo had with a reporter in Punch Newspapers and one other blog about this matter, Mr. Keyamo has never personally signed or issued any letter or press release on this issue,” the statement said.

Warning that all of Pastor Suleman’s allegations of some imaginary grand conspiracy being perpetrated against him are not only pathetic but are ludicrous and a nonsensical smokescreen, the law firm said it had the instruction of Ms. Otobo to ask Apostle Suleman the following questions:

Whether it is the Hausa/Fulani herdsmen that instructed him to be paying millions into the account of our client who he calls a “stripper” all the way in Canada.
Whether it is his special calling as a so-called “man of God” to be paying millions to strippers and prostitutes to leave their trade, when there are poor women and widows within his congregation in Nigeria that need help badly.
Whether it is the Hausa/Fulani herdsmen that instructed him to be exchanging amorous text messages with a girl he calls “a stripper”. These text messages would all be investigated and revealed when full criminal investigations commence.
Whether it is the Hausa/Fulani herdsmen that instructed him to be having Skype conversations with Miss Stephanie Otobo and to be requesting her to open her bare breasts to him.
Whether it is the Hausa/Fulani herdsmen that told him to be exposing his private part to Miss Stephanie on Skype; which pictures are in our custody.

“We make bold to say that when criminal investigations commence, all these text messages and pictures would be subjected to serious forensic analysis, and the truth would be established,” the statement said. “The hotels they slept in and the evidence of their meetings in and out of this country would be revealed. The pitiable excuse of “photoshop” has become a convenient escape route for all culprits caught on tape these days.”

The Chamber advised that Mr. Keyamo is not the real problem the pastor has.

“His problem is the little girl whom he thought he could easily take advantage of and destroy her life. Somehow, she has found the strength and the voice to fight back, and this is where we are now. Other unfortunate victims of this same self-proclaimed “Man of God” are also in touch with us now and are also itching to tell their story, with proofs.

Christians, Stay Away From The Planned Protests & Pray For Nigeria - Suleman

As against the earlier call by some concerned bodies for christians to come out enmasse for a protest march to the Abuja DSS office on Monday as Apostle Johnson Suleman honours its invitation, the servant of God through his ministry, Omega Fire Ministries Inc, has urged caution against any form of protest for the sake of peace.

The Department of State Security (DSS) had sent a formal invitation to Apostle Johnson Suleman to appear before its officials on Monday 30th January 2017.

In a statement signed by the OFM Admin, Pastor David Apelorioye, the ministry pleads;

“We ask all Christians to stay away from the planned protest and pray for the nation. We can almost agree that this is not a war but an invitation.

Apostle Johnson Suleman is a man of God and has the love of the nation at heart, we do not want anybody or group to use the current situation to create anarchy in the system.

He appreciates the love and support received so far since the attempted arrest and he wishes that we crown this efforts with a call to pray rather than the protest march.

Once again, we urge Christians to pray fervently for the peace of the nation and the nullification of the plans of the enemies of this nation.

DSS Invites Apostle Suleman Over Unguided Rant

THE Department of States Services, DSS, has invited a senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, OFM, Apostle Johnson Suleiman.

This invitation is coming two day after the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), called for his arrest over his unguided rant over herdsmen.

MURIC said the clergy is out to make the “country unsafe for law abiding Muslims and Fulanis.”

Recall that Suleiman has been in the news lately after he asked his members to kill any Fulani herdsmen seen around him and his church.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose had foiled an attempt by operatives of the Department of States Services, DSS, to arrest the clergy man in Ado-Ekiti recently.

Suleiman, Social Times gathered was directed to appear at the agency's headquarters in Abuja on Monday.

The clergy has threatened to sue the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly attempting to arrest him.

Speaking to newsmen, Thursday, the chamber of Olayiwola Afolabi & Co said it has the blessing of Suleiman to take legal action against the DSS claiming “exemplary damages for its politically motivated moves against our client.”

Lead counsel of the company, Olayiwola Afolabi in company with William Usman, described the action of the DSS as “a Luciferic attack on a harmless, innocent and trustworthy citizen.”

Afolabi said they were baffled that their client, who is a public figure, was not just simply invited to clarify his statement, but chose a commando style to harass their client.

The Director of Media, OFM, Dr. Sule Emmanuel and Coordinator, Legal team, Samuel Amune yesterday assured that Suleiman was safe.

The church explained: “Suleiman was forced to call on Christians to defend themselves against these killers since the spate of killings, rather than abate, had been on the rise. Interestingly, the call by the man of God now became the focus of the Nigerian government, despite the fact that it evidently had failed to protect her people. It is now determined to exploit the instruments of the state to go after the man of God."
